Who we are
This website is operated by the Committee to Elect Pat Forbes ("the Campaign," "we," & "us"), the
principal campaign committee of Patrick Forbes, a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District. Our Federal Election Commission identification number is C00958322.
This policy explains what information we collect through patforbes.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
We collect information when you choose to give it to us:

When you volunteer or contact us. Our volunteer form asks for your first and last name, phone number, and email address, and includes a box where you can tell us how you would like to help. The form also has a checkbox where you may agree to receive text messages from the Campaign. That checkbox is optional and is not required to volunteer.

When you contribute. Federal law requires us to collect your name, mailing address, employer, and occupation for contributions above a certain amount, along with the amount and date. Contributions are processed by ActBlue. See the section on contributions below.

When you attend an event. If you sign in at a campaign event, we collect the information you write on the sign-in sheet.
Information collected automatically
We have not installed Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party tracking on this site. Our site is hosted on Wix. Wix sets cookies that are necessary to operate the site and to keep it secure. Wix also provides us with basic statistics about site traffic, and stores the submissions from our volunteer form. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:

Send you campaign news and information by email, and by text message where permitted.

Respond to volunteer offers and messages sent through our site.

Process and acknowledge contributions, and meet our reporting obligations under federal law.

How we share information
We share information in these circumstances:

With vendors who work for us. Google Workspace and Wix, which we use for email and for our website; Politexts, which sends our text messages; and ActBlue, which processes contributions. These companies receive information in the course of providing those services to us.

With other political committees and organizations. We may share supporter information, other than the information described under Mobile numbers below, with other political committees and organizations.

As federal law requires. The Federal Election Commission requires us to publicly report the name, mailing address, employer, and occupation of anyone who contributes more than $200 in an election cycle, along with the amount and date. These reports are public records. Neither you nor we can opt out of this requirement.

When you ask us to, or when we are required to by law, subpoena, or court order.
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Mobile numbers
Your mobile phone number and your consent to receive text messages are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party for marketing purposes, and are not shared with any other committee, affiliate, or partner for their own messaging. This applies regardless of any other sharing described above.
Text messages
We send text messages about the campaign. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. We honor every STOP request.
Where we get phone numbers
We obtain phone numbers from people who provide them to us directly — through our volunteer form, at events, or when contributing — from other campaigns, and from publicly available voter registration files. Our text messaging is conducted in accordance with applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies set by Wix, our hosting provider. Some are necessary for the site to function and to keep it secure. We have not added advertising or analytics cookies of our own. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Contributions
Contributions through this site are processed by ActBlue, a separate organization. ActBlue collects and handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, not this one. We receive from ActBlue the contribution information federal law requires us to report, along with the contact information you provide, which may include your phone number.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, including ActBlue and our social media accounts. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No website or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can stop receiving texts at any time by replying STOP. You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email we send. You may also write to us at the address below to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, and we will do what we reasonably can.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
